How to quickly dimension kitchen air flow with Hood.X

Thanks to our clever Hood.X Selection tool, HVAC designing for professional kitchens is now easier and faster than ever. The handy tool enables dimensioning kitchen air flow already on the first page. It also provides you with a pdf of the outcome, effortlessly printed and presented on.

Step 1:

To calculate the air flow in the entire kitchen, go directly to the “Exhaust air flow dimensioning” section and choose “Dimensioning based on kitchen equipment.”

 

Step 2:

Choose the other devices used in the kitchen and insert their power consumption. You can add as many devices as you want to.

 

Step 3:

Insert the simultaneity factor. The factor indicates the probability of the added devices being used simultaneously. The default factor of 0,80 means that the likelihood of the devices running at the same time is 80%.

 

Step 4:

Press the “Air flow calculation pdf” button, and the program provides you with air flow calculations based on the figures you have used. The document also includes the calculation of the extract air flow of the hood.

Get to know: Product Development Engineer Eero Kahilaniemi

This time in our Climecon team spotlight, we’re heading to our factory in Kausala. Eero is originally from near Tampere, about 180 km north-west of the capital city Helsinki, and his studies eventually led him to Kausala. Trained as an engineer in wood technology, Eero made the transition from wood to steel when he joined Climecon as a test engineer. Today, he works as a product development engineer, with his role having expanded from testing to product development projects and product design—particularly in the area of air terminal devices.
