Preparation becoming reality
With her competition registration now complete, the project feels more real than ever. Viivi admits that the excitement is growing day by day, but that’s all part of the preparation. Climecon’s support also means a lot to her: “It has been truly amazing to see how enthusiastic the whole Climecon team is about my project,” Viivi says.
Viivi is building her racing boat entirely by herself
Over the summer, she has made great progress – the design work is well advanced, the interior painting is almost finished, and next up is the exterior. The goal is to launch the boat as soon as the ice melts in spring. Before that, the boat will be on display at the Helsinki Boat Show in February, where Viivi will present her project.
Even amidst the hard work, there’s room for a breather: before autumn’s busy schedule, Viivi will head to Greece for a holiday, swapping racing pace for relaxed cruising and snorkelling.
Race experience from summer weekends
Alongside the boatbuilding, Viivi has spent nearly every summer weekend racing on a keelboat in Turku. While the summer has been hectic and the schedule tight, the project is progressing as planned. Outfitting the boat will no doubt bring new challenges, but Viivi is committed to tackling them one at a time.
Climecon proudly stands by Viivi as she prepares for this unique adventure. Her journey is filled with the same grit, ambition, and determination that we value and are proud to support.
